Robotics Innovation Facility
Research into the next generation of advanced robotics engineering systems. Robots that can make human like decisions whilst carrying out manufacturing process.
To bring advanced robotics and automation from laboratory into the real world applications.
What We Do
The Robotics Innovation Facility (RIFBristol) helps businesses, entrepreneurs, researchers and public sector bodies to embrace the concept of ‘Industry 4.0'. From training your staff in robotics, and demonstrating how automation can improve your manufacturing processes, to prototyping and validating your new innovations - we can provide the support you need.
Key Enabling Technologies
Sensors
Actuators
Software
Materials of construction
Machine elements
Communication
The approach adopted will concentrate on integration of the above technologies.
Methods of Engagement
The RIF Bristol team conduct the majority of it's Research and Development collaborating with industrial partners from all over the world. Individual researchers, entrepreneurs, start-ups, SMEs, large business and educational institutions approach BRL with real-world challenges seeking our expertise to develop smart automative and robotic solutions not readily available in the commercial sector.
Due to the broad range of robotic themes within the BRL family, we are able to seek guidance from some of the best researchers in their respective field of expertise and access cutting edge technology. With access to such enviable resources, we have been successful in attracting financial support from European and UK funding bodies to create various opportunities for collaborators to engage with us:
TERRiNet
From researchers and students, to businesses and entrepreneurs – TERRINet helps a range of clients to innovate using robotics.
RIFBristol plays a leading role, providing training and access to hardware.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 730994
Robotics Innovation Facility
The Robotics Innovation Facility (RIF) brings researchers and industry in direct contact with current and new users of robotic technologies.
Located within BRL, the RIF is equipped with a number of robots, vision systems and other items of automation.
SABRE
The Smart Automation for Business, Research and Entrepreneurs (SABRE) initiative is an ERDF supported programme providing tailored robotics & automative services to SMEs & entrepreneurs based in the West of England.
This project has received funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.
