“In terms of R&D, we have a number of centres of excellence, including the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, home to truly world-leading research efforts, while also providing an incubator environment for innovative, early-stage robotics companies. An excellent example of a seamless melding of lab-based research and commercial development, all under one roof.”
The Robotics Innovation Facility
(RIF) brings researchers and industry in direct contact with current and new users of robotic technologies. Located within BRL, the RIF is equipped with a number of robots, vision systems and other items of automation.
The Smart Automation for Business, Research and Entrepreneurs (SABRE) initiative is an ERDF supported programme providing tailored robotics & automative services to SMEs & entrepreneurs based in the West of England.
The West of England Robotics Network
The West of England Robotics Network
is run by Bristol Robotics Laboratory and supported by Invest Bristol and Bath, and South Gloucestershire Council to support the formation and development of RAS supply chains and companies and contribute to growing the region’s High Tech Cluster.
Useful robotic solutions are rapidly becoming reality and will bring economic and social benefits to all of us. Founded on a long and distinguished history as a hub of entrepreneurial excellence and technological innovation, with iconic examples, such as Brunel’s Suspension Bridge and Concorde, the West of England has strengths in Creative & Digital, Advanced Engineering and Aerospace, Low Carbon, Healthcare and High-Tech sectors. We want to bring together people from these and other interested communities – to create and share opportunities in developing RAS markets.
